The London Hospital 1865 vintage rugby shirt is made with a quality heavyweight slub cotton which gives the shirt a hard wearing yet soft and comfortable retro style finish. This British vintage ‘old school’ shirt combines heritage colour dyes with a distressed wash to produce a nicely worn-in look and feel. The London Hospital 1865 rugby shirt is completed with a black cross on a red shield embroidered on the left breast and the founding date.

London Hospital F.C. founded in 1865 with 80 members. They played at Victoria Park close to Victoria Park Station. The members changed at ‘Morpeth Castle’. They wore black shirts with a black cross on a red shield on the left breast. The London, as they were known, had a strong fixture list. Playing Challenge Cup matches against the other first-class teaching hospital sides. They also played club matches against the likes of Bedford, Ealing, London Welsh, Saracens, Sidcup and Wasps. They changed their colours first to blue and white stripes and then again to their distinctive 2” blue and white squares for the 1900/01 season.
